Jallikattu In Oscars 2021: India's official entry for Malayalam film 'Jallikattu' Oscar 2021

Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar's film 'Gully Boy' was nominated for the Oscars of the year 2020. Although the film could not win the Oscar, it was an honor to go there. Now another film from India has been sent for Oscar 2021. The Malayalam film 'Jallikattu' has been sent from India for Oscar 2021. India has got an official entry at the Oscars 2021 with 'Jallikattu'. 'Jallikattu' has been sent for the Best International Feature Film category at the 93rd Academy Awards.

Jallikattu has been selected from 27 films. The other films which were in the competition of 'Jallikattu' are Disipal, Shakuntalam Devi, Shikara, Gunjan Saxena, Chhapak, AK vs AK, Gulabo-Sitabo, Bhonsle, Chalang, Eb Allu Oo !, Check Post, Etkan Chatkan, Serious Men , Bulbul, Kamayab, The Sky Is Pink, Chintu's Birthday and Bittersweet.

'Jallikattu' is directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. Antony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sabumon Abdusamad and Santhy Balachandran were seen as lead actors in the film. The film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on 6 September 2019.

What is the story: In the film, a man named Warke and Antony runs a slaughterhouse. Where buffaloes are killed they are sold. One day a buffalo runs away from the slaughterhouse and creates terror in the entire village. Police is called to control him. The whole village starts capturing him. But buffalo does not control anyone. The film shows an attempt to control the buffalo in a different way, as well as how the buffalo protects itself from the crowd.
