Belamkonda debuted in 2014 with a superhit action entertainer 'Alludu Seenu'. Talking about the project, Dr. Jayantilal Gada, MD and President of Penn Studios said that, Chhatrapati is a great script and we needed a southern star to take it to Bollywood and for that we saw Belamkonda Perfect Fit . We are very excited about this project, and everything is fitting in its place at a good pace. We have updated the script to match the sensibilities of Bollywood.

Excited for his debut in Hindi films, Belmakonda said, "This project is perfect for me to start in Hindi films. With this, I got an opportunity to work with Jayantilal Gada and I got a chance to work with my first director Vinayak again. It is a big responsibility for me to play this character of Prabhas. But, I am happy that I got a chance to do it.

The Telugu film Chhatrapati, directed by SS Rajamouli, is the story of a young Shivaji and his family. Shiva's family is separated from his community in Sri Lanka and is kept as a bonded laborer in Visakhapatnam. Shiva then stands against injustice and tries to bring justice to the people. The film was well received by the audience and critics and was dubbed as a superhit.

The original Telugu language film starred Prabhas with actors Shria Saran, Bhanupriya, Pradeep Rawat, Narendra Jha, etc. in the lead roles.
