Dengue & Covid: UP govt begins door-to-door surveillance

Given dengue, viral fever and Covid cases in UP, health workers have started door-to-door surveillance to identify patients.

They are testing Covid suspects based on symptoms like fever and will provide medicines to stop the spread of viral fever cases.

The Health Department has also started enlisting people left out of the Covid vaccination drive. ASHA and Anganwadi workers will go door-to-door to collect details before beneficiaries (above 45) get vaccines. Both campaigns will continue till September 16.

Lucknow CMO Dr Manoj Agrawal said awareness is being created on the ground through this special sensitisation and symptomatic person identification campaign. Details of children up to two years who have been left out of routine vaccination will also be collected.

The campaign will run from 8 am to 2 pm. For this, a team of two people will be formed. ASHA and Anganwadi workers will be included in the team.
