Covid-19: FDA gives conditional approval for antibody treatment of corona

The US drug regulator has conditionally approved the emergency use of Corona's antibody drug. This drug helps the immune system in fighting Kovid-19. US President Donald Trump was given the same treatment when he developed a corona infection.

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s antibodies from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will be given to patients with mild to moderate symptoms after approval to use the drug. The FDA has allowed it to be used on adults and children under 12 years of age or older and weighing at least 40 kilograms and those facing serious danger due to age or other medical conditions. .

Preliminary results have shown that this drug may reduce hospitalization or ICU admission of serious patients due to Kovid-19. However, studies are still underway to ascertain its safety and its effectiveness. Earlier, the FDA had given emergency approval to Eli Lilly's antibody drug and the study related to this is still going on.

The company Regeneron said the initial dose would be available to about 300,000 patients through the federal government allocation program. Patients will not have to pay a fee, but they may have to spend on how to deliver it.
